Interim Accountant

Interim Accountant (2–3 months, potential to extend)

Location: Huntingdon (PE28)

Contract: 2–3 months initially

Start: ASAP

We are working with a growing SME business who require a hands-on Accountant to support with a period of finance clean-up and year-end preparation.

This is a practical, detail-focused role where you will be responsible for getting into the numbers, resolving issues and ensuring the finance function is in a strong position ahead of year-end.

Key responsibilities:

• Reviewing and correcting transactional postings
• Identifying and resolving mis-postings and allocation issues
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting preparation for year-end and external accountant queries
• Improving the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting
• Assisting with day-to-day finance tasks as required

About you:

• Part-qualified or qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
• Strong attention to detail with a hands-on approach
• Comfortable working at transactional level and working through issues
• Experience within SME environments
• Able to work independently and quickly get up to speed

Additional information:

• Immediate start required
• Likely 4–5 days per week (flexible depending on availability)
• On-site initially, with some flexibility once up to speed
• Potential for the role to extend or evolve longer term
